I don’t know what AI art is. Does anyone?
I made this series using a combination of photography, diffusion models, ControlNet and physical oil painting. I’ve previously spent hundreds of hours in the darkroom developing photographs. I thought I was making art then, but maybe I’ve been wrong this whole time? So I took some more pictures. Then I did some things to those pictures. The goal was to push the boundary of definitions and put AI into context as one tool among many in the artist’s toolkit. Happy to share some not-art that took me many days to make with the world.
